Amazon, Tesla and SpaceX joined 53 other companies in objecting to the OKXICE tokenized stocks trading venue, according to a November 2 notice that raised the total number of objections to 56. The objections block OKXICE from tokenizing those issuers’ shares on its planned platform. The venue, a joint venture between OKX U.S. and Intercontinental Exchange, remains set to operate under the SEC’s five-year Innovation Exemption issued in September 2026.

Objections Grow as Deadlines Close for 62 Notified Issuers

OKXICE notified roughly 62 companies with 63 symbols around October 4, 2026. Public objection lists show a steady increase: nine objections by October 15, 16 by October 19, 22 by October 23, 26 by October 26, 33 by October 27, 38 by October 28, 50 by October 30, and 56 by the November 2 update. The latest additions include Amazon, Tesla, SpaceX, Netflix, Lam Research and SoFi. Approximately 79 percent of the original list have now objected.

The objections prevent OKXICE from creating tokenized versions of those stocks on permissioned Uniswap v4 AMM pools running on OKX’s X Layer. Each token would have been backed 1:1 by underlying shares held by a broker-dealer and would have carried equivalent dividends and voting rights. Trading was intended to run 24/7 and settle in stablecoins such as USDC and USDT. The venue discloses that it is unregistered with the SEC, is not subject to Reg NMS, and operates under volume caps equal to 0.25 percent of prior-month average daily volume for Tier 1 stocks.

Objectors now include Microsoft, Alphabet, Nvidia, JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, Walmart, Eli Lilly, Coca-Cola, Intel, IBM, Oracle, AMD, Broadcom and Verizon. The remaining 13 companies without disclosed objections include Apple and several crypto-linked firms such as Coinbase, Robinhood and Circle.

SEC Innovation Exemption Sets 30-Day Objection Window

The SEC’s Innovation Exemption, issued around September 17, 2026, allows qualifying Tokenized Securities Venues to operate for five years without exchange registration. Issuers receive notice before third-party tokenization and have 30 calendar days to file a written objection. Silence constitutes consent, but an objection blocks only that specific venue. Early notices have objection windows closing around November 3, 2026.

OKXICE has not announced a launch date. It may proceed with non-objected stocks or with tokens sponsored directly by issuers that have not objected. Other tokenized-stock initiatives continue under the same exemption framework. The rapid accumulation of objections shows that most large issuers have chosen to prevent third-party tokenization of their shares on this particular platform.

Market Context for Tokenized Equity Trading

Tokenized equity venues aim to enable continuous trading and stablecoin settlement while relying on existing broker-dealer custody for the underlying shares. The OKXICE plan combines elements of decentralized finance infrastructure with traditional market safeguards required by the exemption. Volume caps and the requirement for issuer notice limit the scale of any single venue and give issuers direct control over participation.

With 56 objections recorded, OKXICE will operate with a reduced set of symbols unless additional issuers later consent or sponsor their own tokens. The outcome illustrates how the 30-day objection mechanism functions in practice and how quickly issuers respond when notified of potential third-party tokenization.

Frequently asked questions

How many companies have objected to OKX ICE tokenized stocks?

Fifty-six companies out of the original 62 notified have filed objections as of the November 2 update. The list includes Amazon, Tesla, SpaceX, Microsoft, Nvidia and Walmart.

What happens when an issuer objects to the OKXICE venue?

An objection blocks OKXICE from creating tokenized versions of that issuer’s shares on its platform. It does not prevent the issuer from pursuing its own tokenized offering or tokenization on other venues.

Under which rule does the OKXICE venue operate?

The venue operates under the SEC’s five-year Innovation Exemption for Tokenized Securities Venues, issued in September 2026. The exemption removes the need for exchange registration but includes volume caps and a 30-day issuer objection period.

Can OKXICE still launch with objected stocks?

No. OKXICE cannot proceed with tokenization of shares from companies that have objected. It may launch only with symbols from the remaining issuers that have not objected or that later provide consent.

Wait, OKXICE is trying to offer tokenized versions of all these big company stocks? Didn't know that was even possible without permission.

Honestly not surprised 56 companies pushed back. Tokenized shares sound like a regulatory minefield.
