ESMA updated its interim MiCA register between October 16 and 19, 2026, by adding nine crypto-asset service providers. The move brings the total number of unique authorized CASPs to 375.

New Entries Include BingX EU and YouHodler Italy

BingX received authorization for its Austrian entity MEGE zweite on or around October 13, 2026. The approval covers custody services, crypto-to-fiat and crypto-to-crypto exchanges, and transfers of crypto assets. BingX EU CEO Daniel Lai noted that the license allows the firm to operate under a defined regulatory framework before rolling out services across the EEA.

YouHodler obtained authorization through its Italian subsidiary. The license permits custody, crypto-asset trading and exchange, order execution, and transfers. Openbank Deutschland AG, the German unit of Spain’s Banco Santander, also appears on the updated list. Additional new entries include Spain’s Prakma Markets, connected to the Goin savings app, and two German cooperative banks: VR-Bank Alb-Blau-Donau eG and VR Bank im südlichen Franken eG.

The EMT register stayed at 50 entries from 25 unique entities. The ART register remains empty. The non-compliant CASP list grew by five entries to 178. Denmark’s Penning Financial Services was removed from the authorized register.

MiCA Transitional Rules and National Authorization Counts

MiCA’s transitional period concluded on July 1, 2026. Only firms listed in the ESMA register may legally offer crypto-asset services such as custody, trading platforms, and transfers to clients in the EU and EEA. National competent authorities submit notifications that ESMA incorporates into weekly updates of the public CSV files.

Germany holds the largest share of authorizations at approximately 106. France follows with around 36, and the Netherlands with roughly 29. These figures reflect notifications received up to the latest weekly cycle.

Firms seeking to serve EEA clients must confirm their status directly on the ESMA site rather than relying on secondary announcements. Continued weekly updates are expected as more national authorities complete their review processes.

Market Context for Crypto Service Providers

The additions reflect ongoing implementation of uniform licensing rules across member states. Entities such as BingX and YouHodler now operate with explicit permission to provide regulated services to European users. Traditional financial groups including Santander have also secured entries through their subsidiaries.

Market participants can track future changes through the official ESMA interim register. Enforcement actions against unauthorized platforms and supervision of stablecoin issuers remain separate workstreams under the same regulation.
